Ocean City, Maryland. |
If you know me, then you know that I love water pool, beach, shower etc. There's something about water that taps into my spirit. Usually I joke around and say that in my past life I was a "merman" (haha). For some strange reason today, as I'm on vacation God spoke to me and said, "Tonight, I want you to write about water." Surrounded by water in Ocean City, I thought it was just me being so in love with water that my mind was just fixated on it. As I gazed out into the ocean God spoke and said, "water." At first I was thoroughly confused, but then I got. It was sort of an epiphany (lol), I am so in love with water because of my dependency on God. Let that marinate in your mind... As humans we know that water is very essential to life, more so imperative. Water is the most abundant compound on the surface of Earth. The word abundance resonates in my heart at this very moment. Water and abundance... Abundance and water. As we rely on water we need to rely on God with the same emphasis. Some are privileged to have water in their everyday lives without scarcity. Others do not have the benefit without scarcity being apart of the equation. Often times we over look water and its importance to life. Also, we overlook God and his importance to life. Unlike water we can have as much of God as we want not matter where we are because scarcity does not exist pertaining to eternal life. I love how the Bible metaphorically uses water to adequately define the Holy Spirit. For example, Jesus tells us a parable about a Samaritan woman at a well. It's in the new testament (John 4), but I'll give you the abridged version. She was thirsty ya'll (lol) she "desired" to be with men. Jesus asked her to draw him some water and she tells him that the Jews, and Samaritans do not get along (as if Jesus did not already know). Jesus tells her that the water she drinks of she will thirst again, but he is the everlasting water a river that won't run dry. This is where the abundance part comes in. Abundance is a very large quantity, now God tells us that he sent his son (Jesus) to die for us so that we may have life and have it more abundantly (John 10). Water and Abundance... Abundance and water... As we rejuvenate our bodies by quenching our thirst with physical water lets remember its importance. While we quench our thirst physically, lets be restored by an abundance of everlasting water which is Jesus while admiring his importance to our physical, and spiritual life. As I write, the song "I need you," by Tye Tribett is playing. What a great way to give closure to "Agua." Just know that God is amazing and he is with you ALWAYS. I can't imagine what my life would be without God. Knowing that I love water and depend on it for life, and peace (water is my safe haven). I can say with my entire heart that I depend on God so much more than water. I encourage you to think of what gives you "life" and how much you utilize, and want it. Afterwards substitute whatever it is with God and watch him do exceedingly,
Abundantly above all you can ask or think (Ephesians 3). I pray this has blessed, and ministered to you as it has for me!
